About Me

I have always loved design.

Not just interior design, but the beauty of design in all its forms. The photograph thoughtfully captured through a lens. The arrangement of books on a shelf. The feeling a room gives you the moment you step inside. The quiet satisfaction of opening a pantry door and finding everything in its place.

I see it in the mountains stretching across the horizon and in the rhythm of waves meeting the shore. I see it in the intricate details of a flower and in the astonishing complexity of the human body. Beauty surrounds us every day, inviting us to pause, wonder, and delight in the world we’ve been given.

I have simply always been captivated by it.

My name is Laura, and that fascination is how The Home of Heart & Habit was born.

For many years, I believed my love of design was somehow shallow. I thought caring about beauty meant caring too much about appearances. I tried to convince myself that it wasn’t important and wondered why I couldn’t stop dreaming about changing and improving the spaces around me.

Then one day, the Lord gently changed my perspective.

In a moment I will never forget, I felt Him speak to my heart: Don’t I love things to be beautiful too? Did I not create a world filled with beauty?

Everything changed.

It was the moment God revealed to me what I now think of as His sacred architecture—the intentional beauty woven throughout creation. It was also the moment I realized that this passion wasn’t something to suppress. It was a gift to embrace and a calling to pursue.

Since I was a little girl, I have been designing spaces. My bedroom was my first canvas—a place where imagination, function, and beauty could come together in a way that felt uniquely my own. Today, not much has changed.

As a wife and mother of three, I now have the privilege of homeschooling my children and teaching them to appreciate thoughtful design, meaningful rhythms, and the beauty of a home built with purpose and character. Together, we are learning that our homes are more than places we live—they are places that shape us.

That belief is at the heart of everything I do.

I have come to believe that many of our callings are simply our giftings, faithfully stewarded. We are all created to cultivate lives marked by peace, beauty, and intention. My hope is to help others do the same—to create homes that reflect what matters most and to build habits that support a life well lived.

It is truly an honor to help others create their own Home of Heart & Habit.
